What's New

In 2014, Americon was commissioned to design, manufacture and install a control room for Eglin Air Force Base in Florida. The control center was developed with the aid of Americon's Jerry Herrington, who worked hand in hand with the day to day supervisor of operations. Americon support staff designed a functional environment that included cockpit-style slatwall workstations that were connected together using teardrop-shaped storage modules. The workstations included articulating keyboard/mouse platforms, LED task lighting, integrated three drawer pedestals, CPU storage and articulating monitor arms. The final touch was the classic United States Air Force logo engraved into the end panels of the workstations.
Visionmaster LCD Video Walls

For the monitoring system, Americon audiovisual engineers added a Visionmaster LED/LCD panel video wall system. The displays used at the time were NEC 55" displays and the video wall processor was Jupiter's Fusion Catalyst. A Crestron control system brought sound, video, lighting and video wall layouts to the fingertips of each operator. Two years later, this control center is occupied 24 x 7 and is going through systematic improvements as technology changes.
